Information for Solicitors and Care Managers

Over 25 years experience in the field of brain injury and neurological rehabilitation, enables me to provide comprehensive neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation programmes. I have acted as an expert witness over a number of years, running a small independent practice alongside a NHS consultancy. My extensive experience in carrying out neuropsychological assessments for a range of clinical presentations, enables me to act as an expert witness when an informed opinion is required. Neuropsychological assessments can help to answer a range of questions including:

  • The effect of the brain injury on cognitive and emotional functioning
  • The effect of the brain injury on personality and behaviour
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder following brain injury
  • The extent and severity of other psychological disorders
  • The potential impact on everyday functioning including return to work
  • Rehabilitation needs following brain injury

Information for Commissioners

Brain injuries survivors often present with a complex array of cognitive, behavioural, emotional, physical and communication difficulties. As such it can be extremely difficult to align local service provision with the needs of the individual. Consequently, many brain injury survivors are placed in specialist independent sector provision. Integrity Neuropsychology Services (INSneuro) works with health, education and social care commissioners to provide solutions that enable you to achieve clinical and cost effectiveness.

Key questions to support decision making include:

  • What are realistic clinical outcomes to expect from this placement?
  • Is there a reasonable timeframe for the achievement of agreed outcomes?
  • How can I best monitor progress on placement?
  • Is there a clinical/rehabilitation pathway to aid this process?
  • Do I have the right tools and information to support decision making?
